We are a registered charity providing emergency and short-term hostel accommodation and move-on units in Norwich for young men aged 16 to 30, a drop-in centre for young people, resettlement support and help, advice and support on benefits, training, work, etc. |
Residents at the hostel are usually from Norfolk and North Suffolk, proving that even the most rural locations have problems with homelessness. Many are in trouble with the law and are totally demoralised with life, but whatever the problem, staff at the hostel are able to offer a helping hand and look at ways of building residents self esteem and morale.
New residents are encouraged to feel that the hostel is their home and are offered security, food and most important of all, someone who cares. Once residents have settled in, they are encouraged to look for work and develop new skills that will allow them to live independently. There is no limit as to how long residents can stay, but some residents leave to take up jobs and some move into their own flats or bedsits.
Where residents move into their own accommodation, help is often offered with setting up home and assistance is given in getting furniture and in coping with shopping, cooking, cleaning and laundry.
