Help us make a positive contribution to the lives of young people

Volunteer activities:

St-Eds is looking for volunteers to work with and support staff in training young people in these areas: construction, motorcycle maintenance, nail technology, catering and functional skills. Duties to include motivating and encouraging young people in their vocational learning, being the eyes and ears of the tutors enabling them to work with up to 8 young people in a group, supervising lunch and break times (allowing staff to have a break), assisting with practical work and/or learner portfolios as required, and assisting with fundraising from time to time.

Details:

Monday to Friday term time only between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
3 hours per week and a regular commitment (i.e. Monday 10am – 1pm every week)
Flexible hours (i.e. 9.30-12.30, 12.30-15.30, 10.00-14.00 or any other hours that suit you)
Rotated between all vocational areas.
Trial session before starting including 1 month probation.
Full induction and Volunteer Handbook provided.

Benefits:

You will receive free training in First Aid, Safeguarding and Norfolk Steps (conflict resolution). Health and Safety and Manual Handling training will be given whilst volunteering. Additional training may be arranged for staff and places will be offered to volunteers on an ad hoc basis. You will also receive a free t-shirt, free lunch, reference should you apply for a job, and
the opportunity for employment as St-Eds develops.
