Des Reynolds is Chief Executive of The Engage Trust, one of only two multi-academy trusts in the UK to specialise solely on alternative provision for learners with social, emotional and mental health concerns. The Engage Trust operates numerous provisions throughout Norfolk including the Short Stay School for Norfolk; which recently featured in the highly acclaimed Channel 4 documentary “Excluded at Seven”.
Des has been a teacher for 20 years, working for 12 in the mainstream secondary sector in roles varying from teacher of ICT to Head of Vocational Studies and Deputy Head. For the last 8 years, Des has been a Head Teacher and latterly Chief Executive in the specialist education arena. Des is a published author on the topic of behaviour management and inclusive education and has formerly held scholarships from the Department for Education. Whilst he has also provided leadership consultancy to various independent special schools and worked as an Ofsted Additional Inspector.
