The VTCT Hair and Beauty Skills qualification suite is designed to enable students to perform hair and beauty skills and techniques on themselves and other students whilst developing their understanding of hair, beauty and hygiene products.
These really important self-care skills help learners to mix well with others, whether in an education or work environment.
All of the modules in this popular course have been designed as a foundation for further study, both in the hair and beauty industry, as well as across broader vocational fields.
This course teaches students to develop a broad range of practical hair and beauty techniques involved in creating a total look and includes skills such as:

Meet Your Tutor
Leah is the Nail Facilitator at St-Eds and tutors the diploma in Nail Technology. This course has now been expanded, however, to cover both hair and beauty. Leah has had training with Essential Nails and is well prepared to deliver this popular course for students wishing to develop their hair and beauty skills and techniques, whilst developing their understanding of hair, beauty and hygiene products. Leah gets great satisfaction working with her students and watching their successes, particularly as they become more confident with the use of their skills. Leah is focused on creating a foundation that prepares students for further study towards a career in the hair and beauty industry.
Carli La Motte
Carli is one of our Hair and Beauty tutors, having achieved NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy to add to her BTEC Media Makeup Design that she conquered at college. Carli has gained experience from working with the BBC, Disney Channel and Sky Sports. Currently working for MAC Cosmetics in the events team she is able to attend and be involved in many national events. Carli is very excited to guide our students through with her tailored experience along with her passion for makeup art. Her favourite moments at St Edmunds Society has been working with the students who show a genuine passion in the subject matter.
Michelle is one of our Hair and Beauty tutors, leading in the field of makeup-artistry which has been a long-running passion for Michelle. She is a Level 3 Assessor in Hair and Beauty and focusses towards assessing vocational related achievement. She is a qualified Level 3 VTCT in Hair and Beauty. Michelle also works as a Freelance Make-Up Artist and provides services for special occasions such as bridal makeup and media and television. Michelle enjoys working with St Edmunds Society as it gives her time to share her valuable skills with our students.
